Born in Marseille (France), raised in the United States , Joëlle Michelini began her musical studies in Los Angeles.

     
  • Graduated Los Angeles University in 1975
  • Recieved her musical diploma in the class of Michael Aitheuser in 1975
  • Studied the Menotti Operas under the direction of Gary Fischer in 1976
  • Semi-finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Competition (USA) in 1977
  • Derek Graydon, student of Ria Ginster, ltaught her the art and technique of Bel Canto
  • Master Class of Gita Denise, in Londres in 1978
  • 1st Price in the Los Angeles Opera Competition (USA) in 1981
  • 1st Price in the Alès and Béziers Competition (France) in 1982
  • Finalist in the Viñas Competition (Spain) in 1983
  • Master Class Elisabeth Schwarzkopf in 1985
  • Studied musical interpretation with Peter Gottliéb at the Montpellier Opera House in 1990
  • Since 1991, has been substitute teacher at the Conservatory of Marseille, in Mister Claude Meloni's Class.
  • Recorded with Laurence Dale “The Caliph of Bagdad” with Sonpact Records in 1993.

Joëlle Michelini has given concerts in France, in the United States, in Hungary, in Algeria, in Tunisia and in the isle of Malte, as well as numerous Opera performances.
